Your Questions About Masks

Steven asks…
How do I make home made body masks or scrubs?
I want to make some home made body scrubs or soaps or masks and put them in cute jars and give them as Christmas gifts. How do I make any of them?
I'm open to suggestions too! Thanks!

Body Scrubs
Sugar Scrub Recipe: Avocado and Almond
Ingredients for this scrub include raw avocado, and would therefore not make an ideal gift as it could not be stored. In order to present this as a gift, one could put together the dry ingredients (and the oil) with instructions on how to add the avocado at a later stage.
•1 Cup Brown Sugar
•2 Tablespoons of mashed avocado
•Dash of apricot oil (not too much, as the mixture will dissolve if too wet)
•Dash of honey
Place the sugar into a bowl, adding the avocado and apricot oil slowly. Keep an eye on the consistency as you add them to the sugar – avoiding that it should it be too thin and watery. Add the honey; and should you wish to add a different scent, a drop or two of an essential oil such as vanilla or lavender can be added. Store the mixture in a container with a lid that seals well.
Salt Scrub Recipe: Salt and Olive Oil
•1 Cup of sea salt (or any coarse salt)
•Olive Oil
With the above combination, any other variations can be made to personalize the scrub, including:
Basic Scrub Mix
1/2 cup wheatgerm
1/4 cup fine oatmeal
1 tablespoon rice flour
Combine ingredients and store in an airtight jar.
When you want to use homemade body scrubs just put 2 tablespoons in a bowl and mix it with a wet ingredient to make a gritty paste.
Use one or more of any of the following wet ingredients; natural yoghurt, milk, cream, honey, egg yolk, fruit
This scrub is gentle enough to use on your face as well as your body, just ensure the grains are very fine.

My friend and I need to make some custom masqurade masks for prom, we have the plaster casts for our face's already made, we used them to make clay masks of us. What materials can we use to make the masks so they're comfortable and fit to our faces, and we have a month to do this before prom.

What is the best ways to prevent or repair dry cracked damage on Halloween masks?
I started collecting Halloween masks about 6 years ago. I typically had them mounted on my walls, stuffed with newspaper. When I took some of them down to change the display this year I noticed that many of them are dry, stiff, crumbling and/or cracked. This didn't bother me with some of the cheaper masks but one of my favorites is starting to show similar signs. Is there anyway to alleviate this dryness in the material, which I suspect is latex for all of them. Also, is there a good way to prevent this from happening while they are on display. It seems selective. My oldest mask must be 10-14 years old and has no dryness at all, but newer ones, less then a few years old are all but ruined.

How many masks do you wear throughout the day?
You know those masks that conceal your true self, how many do you wear all day in contact with people? Are you afraid of being judged by them? Do you ever see they are exactly like you? Exactly?
admin answers:
To conceal the fact that I'm depressed, scared, confused and lost. Yes I pretend I'm happy. I'm sure most everyone does.
